At the extreme south of Corsica you can find deep creeks, wild points, dreamlike locations that the wind has cut or dug. Here, where the mountains sweep down to the sea in an apotheosis of beaches, creeks ans islets.

BONIFACIO: Bonifacio lies at the extreme south of Corsica
This city of singular beauty, drawn with chalk on the thousand years old cliffs, overlooks a sapphire colour strait of incredible transparency. Go to the old town, walk the narrow streets where houses were built over the sea, visit the marina and be dwarfed by the impressive fortified city.
On the white cliffs more than sixty meters high overlooking the sea, men built a magnificent city with great talent.
Highly coveted by the main sovereigns in Europe, this medieval city remained a free town for a long time, living off piracy before becoming a colony of Genes.
Bonifacio is divided in two sections, the marina and the high city. Enclosed in its walls, perched on a narrow headland the high city has an outstanding view on the sea with its impressive walls and old houses tuck to the end of the cliff.
The marina extends along the harbour. It is home to the fishermen and sailors. It is also the starting point of boat rides providing glimpses of exceptional marine scenery.
SARTENE:
Overlooking the Rizzanese valley, Sartène, proud and harsh, calls itself the "most Corsican of all Corsican towns". Certainly this small city looks like no other, with its narrow stony streets where the sun rarely enters and heats the house walls.
A town of tradition, Sartène celebrates every year on Good Friday, the very famous Catenacciu procession.
